Cable/Satellite

Cardinal Peak has a long history of providing solutions to the cable and satellite industries. The company founders brought their industry experience from DiviCom (now part of Harmonic) to Cardinal Peak and immediately started delivering expertise to help cable and satellite providers bring new products to market.

We have been involved with a wide range of engineering consulting engagements, from developing high-throughput head-end encoders and multiplexers to developing applications running on low-power set-top boxes. Cardinal Peak has experience working with some of the strongest companies in the industry, including Dish Network, Echostar, CableLabs, Thomson and RGB Networks.

CASE STUDY

Cable/Satellite

One of the largest cable operators in the U. S. needed help determining the graphics performance of set-top boxes under consideration for interactive digital TV applications. Cardinal Peak quickly developed a suite of carefully tailored, custom animations to quantify this performance, enabling them to make a rapid and informed decision regarding technology strategy.

Later, when they needed to augment their internal engineering team with experienced engineers to help develop STB applications written in both OCAP/Java and native C, they turned to Cardinal Peak. Our personnel were able to quickly and cost-effectively consult on meeting a long list of difficult functional requirements, reducing their time to market.
