John M. Nichols Joins Cardinal Peak Team to Lead Medical Initiative

In this new role, Nichols leverages Cardinal Peak’s extensive engineering expertise to help clients solve their software, hardware and IoT issues and launch market-ready products.

LAFAYETTE, Colo. — Cardinal Peak, a full-service engineering firm specializing in hardware, embedded software, cloud and mobile product development, today announced John M. Nichols has been hired as solutions director and will be leading Cardinal Peak’s medical industry initiative.

“We are excited to bring John aboard to lead our efforts in advancing medicine and health care. His unique combination of engineering, management and experience developing medical products makes him the ideal choice to focus and expand our presence in the medical and health care industry,” said Mark Carrington, Cardinal Peak’s CEO.

As solutions director, Nichols will meet with prospective clients to understand their engineering needs, detail how Cardinal Peak can help solve their problems and effectively bring their products to market. Leveraging his medical product engineering background, Nichols will support Cardinal Peak’s experts in connected product design (who possess expertise in circuit design, embedded software, security integration, cloud and mobile applications) with navigating the processes that must be adhered to in order to create Food and Drug Administration-compliant equipment.

Before joining Cardinal Peak, Nichols held the positions of project manager, director of engineering and director of product development across four different engineering services companies. In that time, he was responsible for a large number of medical engineering efforts, developing a deep understanding of the ins and outs of working within a client’s quality management system and under their standard operating procedures. Nichols’ experience enables him to present a compelling case to prospects detailing Cardinal Peak’s skills, experience and tenacity to overcome any issues.

“In my new position, I can take what I’ve experienced and learned in my previous jobs and communicate to clients how Cardinal Peak can help them solve their issues and improve their products,” said Nichols. “I am excited to lead the charge for Cardinal Peak’s medical and health care initiative. Cardinal Peak has some great medical product successes under its belt but is currently a bit of a hidden gem in the medical sector. I look forward to expanding our footprint and letting the industry know of our capabilities.”
