LAFAYETTE, Colo. — Cardinal Peak, an engineering services firm that helps customers design and bring Internet of Things and video/audio products to market, today announced the company has appointed Mark Carrington as chief executive officer, effective immediately. Howdy Pierce, Cardinal Peak’s co-founder and current CEO will continue to serve as chairman.
Carrington, who joined Cardinal Peak six months ago as president, is a seasoned Silicon Valley executive who brings a wealth of relevant experience in finding solutions for customers and building successful teams to Cardinal Peak. Beginning his career at IBM, Carrington spent more than a decade in various sales and sales management positions before moving on to hold senior leadership positions at DiviCom, Network Physics, Kontiki and Harmonic. Most recently, he was vice president of worldwide sales at Magnum Semiconductor which was recently acquired by GigPeak.
“Mark has very clearly demonstrated he has the vision and leadership skills to take Cardinal Peak to the next level,” Pierce said. “Mike Perkins and I have known Mark for more than 20 years, and he has a track record of strong leadership. He’s uniquely qualified to lead Cardinal Peak into the future.”

In his new role as chairman, Pierce will continue to be active at the company, with a focus on long-term strategy.
